Contamination is the curse of hydraulic and lubricated mechanical systems. It enters from the atmosphere or is generated from within to reduce the life of lubricants and system components. The two main types of contamination are solid (dirt, metals, rubber, etc) and liquid (water, soap, other oils, oxidation).
Petrolink designs a service solution that will reduce your lubricant and disposal costs and the costs associated with component failure and subsequent unscheduled downtime.
The first step in determining the cost saving potential of our service solution is to conduct a study of your plant lubrication systems. During a study we identify system types (gear, hydraulic, cutting, etc),reservoir capacities, operating conditions, filtration, lubricant and component applications. (pumps, valves, bearing, etc.), material handling practices and servicing logistics.
Our goal is to identify those areas that may affect the cleanliness level of the oil and more important, the efficient operation of your lubrication systems.
Oil samples are pulled with ISO clean materials from the selected systems along with samples of new oil for reference. We evaluate your material handling practices with both new and used oils.
If approved by your company, we also take digital pictures of each system and map the location of each system in the plant.
All system information is accessible for your review via our web-site.
For the first study, we request you select 10-15 critical systems in your plant that may have recently experienced component failure (pumps, valves, gears, etc.) and subsequent operational problems.
After analyzing the collected data, a report is prepared detailing our findings and recommendations for increasing the uptime and efficiency of each selected system...THE PETROLINK SOLUTION.
This initial study is conducted at no charge. All future studies are conducted on an hourly basis.
